Christina Pechmann Gotter

WI Licensed Massage Therapist & Bodyworker #13081-146

Registered Yoga Teacher (200 Hour)

I grew up in the Madison area (ancestral Ho Chunk land, a place their nation has called Teejop) stacking bricks and sweeping floors with my family at Pechmann Memorials. While I remain in Wisconsin, I now aim to help heal those around me with a gentle touch. I am a neurodivergent human and I use she/her pronouns. I enjoy gardening, hiking, backpacking, reading, creating, and spending time with my husband, Steve. We live and work on ancestral Ho Chunk and Potawatomi lands.

At a young age, I had no answers to help me deal with muscle and joint pain, headaches, and poor sleep due to a connective tissue disorder and hypermobility (hEDS). Fortunately for me, acupuncture provided welcome relief, and I began to listen more to my body. Pursuing massage as well as yoga as forms of healing have expanded that relief tremendously.  I completed an Associate’s Degree in Science in Medical Assisting in 2012, and I worked alongside licensed acupuncturist Matthew Warnke in Janesville from 2011 through 2018. I graduated from East West Healing Arts Institute in 2014 with a diploma in Massage Therapy, and in 2020 I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training through the Raja Hatha School of Yoga with Amy Pearce-Hayden.

I have completed the following additional in depth trainings:

RockTape - FMT 1 & 2 (2014); PMT (2015); RockPods & RockFloss (2020)

Myofascial Release 1 - John Barnes, PT, LMT (2016)

Anatomy Trains - In Structure and Function (2017)

Ritual of Rest - Dr. Chanti Tacoronte-Perez - Yantra Wisdom (2022) (virtual)

Somatic Experiencing - Module 1 (2024) (virtual)

I am fascinated by the roles that fascia plays within our bodies, and I am always pursuing current findings and related subjects through books, webinars, and scholarly research. I am a current member of the Fascia Research Society.

Special interests include connective tissue dysfunction, such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, and fibromyalgia.

While I am happy to provide a safe and comfortable place and a listening ear, please note I am not a licensed mental health professional, I provide fascial bodywork and yoga.
